    UX303UB Power Sometimes / No Video

    I am trying to troubleshoot a power issue on this board. I did find a burned 0R resistor. I removed the burnt jumper resistor and replaced with a solder ball. Symptoms are CPU and GPU get hot with power off and adapter in.

    R2614
    1 +3VA_DSW
    2 +3VDSW_VCCPDSW

    I am starting to test the rails in the repair guide.

    +3VA_RTC = 3.054V
    RTC_RST# = 3.052V
    +3VA_EC = 3.296V?
    EC_RST# = 3.285V
    3VADSW_ON = 3.363V
    +3VA_DSW = 3.352V
    +5VSUS = 5.089V
    DPWROK_EC = 3.287V (INTERMITTENT WITH POWER ADAPTER)
    PM_SLP_SUS# = 2.54V?
    VSUS_ON = 3.295V
    +1.0VSUS = 1.030V (PL8302 GETS HOT VERY FAST, HIGH CURRENT DRAW?)

    PCE3802 READS 0.5OHM FIRST ISSUE LOCATED

    +1.0VSUS SHORT TO GND
    +1.0VSUS_PCH SHORT TO GND
    +VCCMPHYG SHORT TO GND

    Hello,

    Don't feel alone. I am having the exact same problem here. My computer never start.
    I have replaced the LCD+Touch, it worked, then i tried to check my old LCD (without connecting touch controller and camera), and the laptop entered this state.

    When i plug in the computer with charger, or turn it on with battery, it tries to start, and:

    LCD backlight flash (and black screen after).
    Power Button Led turns on.
    CPU HeatPipe goes hot, very hot.
    PL8302 gets hot very fast also.
    Fan doesn't start.

    Did you resolved this issue? What can i start checking?

    Thanks in advance,
    Flavio.

      try first to reflow the processor before you scrap it...
