BIOS bin file wanted for Asus M2N-NM/S motherboard

    Hi guys
Does anyone have a bios file for this motherboard which I can use with an external programmer as it is not giving any output onscreen?

I can't find one on ASUS website for this model, just similar models with onboard video or different number of PCI slots

Apparently this is an OEM motherboard which is why I am struggling to find a BIOS file.

    best regards
    Rich

I'm pretty sure it's from a Packard Bell.

Probably it is - so with the info that I have where do I find the BIOS file?

My mistake, it was a format not recognised by the uploader.
It's possible it's not the whole file but an update. Depends on the size of the original.

That file seems to be a complete bin file but for the M2N-NVM version of this motherboard with onboard VGA

The board I have is the M2N-NM/S with no onboard VGA, 1xPCIe and 2xPCI slots

Re: BIOS bin file wanted for Asus M2N-NM/S motherboard

OK so I decided to make a backup and program with that BIOS file anyway. The Motherboard would then power on and straight back off again with post code 82

I then reprogrammed the BIOS from the backup I made and powered on and this time it actually booted up!

Now I wondered how this could possible fix the fault. The original problem was that the motherboard would not detect a graphics card -and I had tried several different known good PCIe cards. It would get onto a loop with post code 50 then C1 repeating, give 1 long + 2 short beeps with post code 26 then continue to boot up to FF but with no video output.

I didn't actually think this was a BIOS fault but thought I would try program the chip anyway.

I realised that this time I had by chance plugged in a different graphics card and it was working, so I then went through my little stash of old GPUs to see what what worked

                    This is what I found

GeForce 7300GS (which I commonly use as a known good test card) - not detected
GeForce 8500GT (my other commonly used known good card) - not detected
Radeon HD3450 (known good) - not detected
Quadro FX570 (known good) - not detected
ATI X1600 Pro (Known good) - not detected
Radeon X300SE (Known good) - not detected
                    Radeon HD2400 PRO - works

So the board will boot it is just really fussy what graphics card is fitted

Attached is the original working BIN file for Asus M2N-NM/S if it is of any use to anyone else
