    APC UPS cap replacement

Hi, I have an APC SMX2200RMHV2U UPS and I'm looking for a replacement for this cap in the picture, it has melted I believe after a storm from what a friend said happened to it, it powers on and has "DC BUS Over Volt" error.

I've inspected the rest of the board and this cap appears to be the only issue I have found. I have removed the cap ready for a new one.

    I'm located in Australia.

Also, can the board be powered on safely without this cap?

legs are 1mm size and about 37mm apart, leght 40mm, width 26mm, hight 41mm (excluding legs).

    Thanks :-)

it looks like it's just a noise filter - i also think the voltage rating is too low!

You may want to contact (send them the pictures) TDK/EPCOS to see if they still make this B3292 series like one you have.
      It looks to be 20uF (D1-20U), +/-20% (M), 305VAC, X2 safety cap, MKP type.

Thanks for the uF and tolerence identification. :-)

I had a search but cannot find any of the same physical size so it may be proceeded by a smaller model perhaps?

I've powered the board on without it and there is a bizzing from some where else on the board and still getting "DC Bus Over Volt".
