Car audio with no radio and blown cap

I bought at the flea market a Sony car minidisc deck and while it is a little worn it almost works perfectly. I say almost because the only thing that does not work is the AM/FM radio. I can test and get a good signal using my antenna from my old CD deck, unplug and connect it to the new deck and all frequencies are dead static. Opening it up I found the traces to the TUX-020 tuner module from the antenna connector were fine so I suspect the module itself is faulty (at least, I hope..). No worries there as my old CD deck uses the same one.
The bigger problem I noticed was that on the exact opposite of the board was this little bugger.

Nothing in the surrounding area showed sign of damage but what on earth blew it up?

That's a supercap. Most likely for storing the settings or something.

They don't live particularly long, especially not in a baking hot (at times) car..
