Dell XPS 400 one lone Heremi and uf change?

It is in a row/cluster of 5 other small caps of 2-220 16v, 3-470 6.3v, all YXG series. Reason being Digikey had only these close to origonal ripple spec.

Question is, can they be upped on the uf? After reading the other Dell threads, that they must have put that uf there for a reason, I'd like some opinion on the matter. I'll try to post a pic of the board shortly.

Most I know is that oviously caps around the CPU are probably for that circuit, but aside from that I am clueless. And all the caps around the CPU are poly's. 560uf 4v

All others on the board are getting replaced also, no matter there brand, just because the fans to the system were filled with %$@&, and knowing the friend it came from probably ran in summer months with no air flow or a/c for 4-5 yrs.
Will be checking the PSU due to heat also.

Since there are very few threads I have found on a XPS 400 I'm including a list of all caps being replaced and how many.

Re: Dell XPS 400 one lone Heremi and uf change?

Does it work after all the replaced caps? Changing the uf isn't a yes or no question as long as you don't change them alot. Without reading all your post if the replacement caps have = to or higher ripple and = to or lower ESR and are close to the same uf and are the right voltage for for the circuit and are 105c are higher you should be fine.

Re: Dell XPS 400 one lone Heremi and uf change?

I'm still in the process of recapping it, and had to reorder some 220uf since I miscalculated. I have read that also, it is just sometimes you never know.

So any way here is the pic of the board with the location of the caps just incase.

      Thanks
