Power supply repair (FHF 8N60 IC )

Hi, There I'm trying to repair a DJ light power supply which was blowing the internal fuse upon inspection the MOS FHF8N60 TO-220F 8A/600V ic was shorted with all pins. The only place I can source them from is china and won't be here till September. So I'm looking for advice on anything that I can get that is compatible with this chip.

1) What is the SMPS IC U1 P/N?
2) Did you check the power resistor connected between the Source pin of the MOSFET and the HOT side circuit ground to make sure it is still OK?
3) Did you check R11?
4) Did you check the components (R8, Q2, D3, etc.) between Gate drive output of the SMPS IC and the Gate of he MOSFET to make sure they are not damaged?
5) When MOSFET shorted out like that, it usually takes out the SMPS IC with it, so if you do not change the SMPS IC you may take a chance of blowing up the new MOSFET.

Hi Budm

I'm in the progress of checking the items but was a bit confused with the pinout of the Mosfet I Have marked on the first pic what I think it the gate source drain which is different from the datasheet. On Ic u1 I have a short between pin 1 which is ground and pin 6 out which is for the gate of the MOSFET.

The power resister is showing 000.2 ohms
R11 =472.1
R8 = 09.96 kohms on board testing
q2 = not sure what is is yet with the markings y2
D3 = 0.583 one way

R8&D3 are good,
power resistor is good
i cant see what's printed on R11

"y2" is in my data as a 13v zener diode - which looks wrong

Get a new power supply. Those modules are dirt cheap on aliexpress or ebay.

Was hoping to fix it tho and to learn how to do things like this
