    Power Supply PSM217-404-H-R (HG281D, HSG1040, VX2835WM) doesn't wake up

    .

    Hi,

I have problems with a already totally recaped PSM217-404-H-R used in HG281D, HSG1040, VX2835WM, ... Since the rest of the TFT runs fine (with another power supply), the power supply doesn't wake up from standby, there is no voltage on the secondary side (just stand by 'SB+5V'). Even if the monitor is connected to main board and power button pressed, neither standby SB+5V is direct wired to power switch on 'PSON'. Just voltage on main cap (C3 150muF/420V) drops from 320 to 318 volts. TFT reacts on power button, but the blue LED is just blinking or went off. More details:

    used caps:
    Code:
    Nr.	[muF]	[V]
    --------------------
    C3	150	420
    C203	2,2	50
    C205	1,0	50
    C108	10	35
    C111	22	35
    C114	2,2	50
    C403	470	35
    C406	10	50
    C601	22	400
    C603	22	35
    C606	1,0	100
    C605	47	50
    C701	1000	10
    C707	22	35
    C301	1000	25
    C302	1000	25
    C306	470	25
    C401	1000	35
    C502	470	35
    C505	1000	10
    C506	470	10
    C702	470	10
    measured voltages:
    Code:
    issue standby	/ "on"
    ------------------------------
    C3 320V	/ 318V
    blue LED	off	/ blinking
    orange LED	off	/ off
    Q202 pin i/1	1V	/ ~1V
    Q202 pin i/2	0V	/ 0V
    Q202 pin i/3	0V	/ 0,4V
    Q601 pin i/1	20V	/ ~0,3V
    Q601 pin i/2	0V	/ 0V
    Q601 pin i/3	22V	/ ~1V
Q501 and Q502 are dead, nothing measured there.

Would be great if anyone has an hint or idea! Thanks and regards
    Paul

Q501 and Q502 are dead as in no voltage or they are shorted?

      Hi,

dead in the meaning of no voltage (just some fluctuating mV). They actually look better then Q602. If they would be blown up at least I had something to start with.
Are there any check points on the board? (Uhh, I realy thought they spent some effort for fixing this easier...)

Do you get anything on the display ever?

          Hi,

I get some fluctuating mV at Q502 and Q502, thats all.
I am concerned about Q601, because voltage drops from ~20V to 1V after powering on.

            How does the Q601 call?
on my board is this IC a little bit dark.
i want to change the IC

Hi - I have spent many hours looking for this item - can you clean it with some
Isopropyl Alcohol on a qtip and check with a magnifying glass fro any part number
              - may be letters.
