    a free good partitoning tool

    Hi all ,

I have installed Win7 on a sata HDD.Now with W7 on it , I can make another partition on the disk.
    But Win7 doesn't want /cannot make a 3rd partition.

Is there another way to do this and not loose the W7 OS ?

    you can use Gparted.
it comes on a lot of linux live-disks.

Presumably, you have allocated the entire disk to these first two partitions? I.e., your mistake was not creating (or setting aside space for) the extra partition as you were installing W7.

Your first task, now, is to make sure you have enough free space on the allocated "main" W7 partition to set aside for the new partition.

Then, you'll want to make sure the used portion of the existing partition is ALL towards the start of that partition -- i.e., so the "end" of the partition does not contain any files or parts thereof (which would be in the way of a new partition in that space)
