When I was trying to route a HTPC through a Pioneer VSX-932 AV receiver via HDMI to a TV via HDMI (so that I can get surround sound from the HTPC which supports it), the AV receiver (which overlays an OSD on the video output) has issues with handling IT video formats but not CEA formats.
I tried updating the firmware in the AV receiver along with checking all relevant settings but the problem persists - this problem could affect a number of other AV receivers.
