ASUS GL553VD-Will it work from dc supply??

I have a ASUS GL553VD rev 2.0 motherboard. I beleive it uses 120W,6.2A adapter. I dont have that sort of adapter in hand. I used my 30V,5A dc lab psu to power it on and it turns on but gives no display. Voltages on all coils are present. Tried bios from asus update, cleaned me region but it didnt helped.

I know doubt that it will not work with dc supply and needs a 120W adapter. Is it true or it is supposed to work from dc supply as well??

It should power up, I think the problem is in graphics chip, since of the asus poor design. I am not a pro, correct me if I am wrong. I have tried on bunch different laptops that use more power than DC lab psu and they powered on, since you are not using full power on start up like lenovo legion y520 uses about 0.8 - 1.2A just for idle.
