I wanted to set the BIOS before that But There was a Password there. Damn... Is there anyway to remove that. Or Reset through SMC.BIN. Can anyone Help here Please. As HP Support Needs Documentations and ID proof.

P.S. I don't want to RIP of the Bios Chip and do Manual Flushing. As I don't know how to do that. Please Help
It's hard to request smc.bin from HP if you don't have first-laptop-payment-notes as evidence as the right owner, it's elitebook afterall. And they need you to capture Device Information Screen or something like that. I tried before and always rejected.

In the end I down to reprogram my Main+EC chip using CH341A with 2 different programing software. You can reprogram Winbond EC chip onboard without desoldering using SOIC8 clip adapter, and for Micron Main chip you have to take the chip off or it won't be writeable (i resoldering it many times because bios file incompatibility) and almost damaging tiny capacitor near it.

Hello, can everyone tell me where is the main and the ec chip placed on 840 G1 Board? It is possible to program via CH341A Programmer?

                Thanks a lo,
                Dave

Yes you can reprogram Main & EC with CH341A, I've done it few times.

But you have to take the Main chip out from board or it won't readable by the programmer, and for the EC you can reprogram it directly using adapter.

                  here's the picture

this may be important notes except you know different ways:
-use default CH341A software for Winbond
                  -use asprogrammer for Micron
-OR you can migrate Main chip to Winbond 25Q128FVSG (it's on VSCC table) if you want to use default CH341A software.

I hate reviving an old thread, but that download totally saved me. I had a bios locked 840 G1 and accidentally wiped the EC while trying to flash the bios directly onto the chip. THANK YOU!
