    Dell 2007FPb cannot stay on

I picked up a Dell 2007 FPb from someone else. Its symptom is after power on (press the on/off button), the initial Dell logo animation just shows up for less than half second and then black screen. The power led stay green and with flashlight at 45 degree I can't see any image. After reading a few threads about this monitor, I guess it is somewhere on the inverter board but could find any obvious defect part. So I took pictures for all the four boards and try to see whether expert here can give me some suggestion. Thanks a lot.

In the last picture there is a small yellow torpedo fuse - test it. Should be ok as you do get a flash. Next test the secondary windings on the 3 transformers on that same board.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Sorry. I was away for a week from my office. I test the resistence of the yellow fuse by multimeter, seems to be OK. How to check the transformer? Should I put the four boards together and plug in? Thanks.

Check the inverter transformer secondary side resistance.
If you search the '2007fpb', you will get lots of threads.

I did checking according to the post:
          https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...pb+transformer
The resistence between 5 and 6 is out of my multimeter reading range for all the three transformers, between 7 and 8 is something around 9 Milliion om for all three of the them. When I hook up all the four boards together and plug in the the inverter connector in to A,B,C,D separately, I could not see the screen was lit up after turn on the power. How to see the "lamp flash briefly"?
          Thanks.

Pin 8 and the bottom pin where the dot is that is one high voltage winding for the left side of the transformer, pin 5 and the bottom right pin is for another winding, it should be around 1000 Ohms.
Same pin out as this one:

I checked the resistence, all six pairs are about 1060 ohms except the right most (ie the pair for the pin 5 as labelled) is 1389 ohms. Do you think this reading ok?
              Thanks.

No, it (1389 ohms) is bad. The readings should be within 3% of each other.

Thanks for both of you. What "keyword" shall I use to find a replacement on those website such as digikey.com or newark.com? The label on top of them is 1J.26061.001 4001R 613003

I don't see any replacement parts for a 4001R on ebay or http://lcdparts.net/T.aspx.

BTW, everything you have described and tested is in the FAQ "2 seconds to black" starting with post #19 (latest revision).

I forgot that an USA member might also have the 4001R transformer from a repair gone bad. If you are interested, I can send him an email to see if he still has one and put you two in contact?
