    Another Dell Dimension 4700.

    I was given this old Dimension 4700 so I have been reading about its problems and that led me here.

    Found one cap with a bulged top C2J2 = 1000 x 10v @ 10mm x 14mm Nichicon (HN) top left of 24-pin PS socket.

    C7E1 = 1000 x 10v @ 10mm x 14mm same Nichicon cap as above between PCIe socket and PCI socket.

    C6J1 = 2200 x 6.3 @ 10mm x 14mm United Chemi-Con (KZJ) lower left of hard drive socket.

    The picture is poor so I marked the caps in question with a red marker.

    What would be the best (available) replacement cap and where can I order them?

    Thanks
    Ron.

    Nichicon HN were known to be defective, but the problem was fixed in 05. You can safely replace them with new Nichicons.

    Replace the HNs with these (https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=206)

    and the KZJ with one of these (https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=168)

    I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

    No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards
