Replacing 22nF ceramic capacitors on 7805

    Hello.

I have observed that the Sega Mega Drive has 22nf ceramic capacitors in the 7805 regulator input and output, while the L7805CV datasheet recommends the use of 330nF and 100nF, respectively.

Maybe then it was pricier to use higher value ceramic caps so I wonder if it's a good idea to replace them with these ones.

if the regulator doesnt oscillate then leave them alone.
btw, your forgetting the total capacitance on the output caused by all the decoupling capacitors across the chips.

That's a good point, thank you. I'll leave the stock capacitors meanwhile they don't fail.
