Fake X2 capacitors?

I'm wondering if you get your x2 safety capacitors from eBay, if there likely to be fake.

Weird, because other's told me stuff like: All of the one's on eBay are fake, They will burn your house down, And over all, people telling me not to use them.

that's true for electrolytics,
but why use ebay anyway?

Just because i don't like to spend too much on small custom projects. [I don't mean repairs or anything.]
