optical convex lens?

HI have a question, what those TV backlight LED lens (optical convex lens? ) are called. If they fall, how can we glue it back? Hot glue gun or super glue?

not hot glue or superglue - the leds get hot.
maybe clear silicone. (neutral cure type)

Will silicone glues take too long to harden?

that stuff is reasonably fast.

It has to be flexible (silicone rubber) because of the temperature swings. Hard epoxy just cracks.

24hr cure for a big blob or thick run, and 1hr for thin films. It's the thickness that mainly affects cure time. Humidity and airflow, temperature also play a part.

I leave the stuff overnight, or several hours upright at least if the lens is heavy.

you can try.
but first, harden some on a bit of tape or card, then bend it
if it cracks it wont work, if it bends then it might.
it also has to be heat-proof.

shopjimmy are fucking assholes!
the heat from the led will cause the cyanocrylate to soften and evaporate - then the vapor will form a stinky foggy powdery coating on everything!!!

454,990 viewers from shopjimmy might be fix led lens using superglue which vapors are very irritating. UV glue or UV silicone glue would be a better way.

A....three crops of UV glue.
B....UV light for 10 seconds.
C....it is ready.
