    Samsung UE480H6400AK

Morning all, I have a Samsung UE480H6400 which had BL failure, have replaced all faulty BL's, tested and now BL comes on.
Problem i'm seeing is when you power the TV on with TCON connected there is no picture no BL's but the TV is still powered on, You can hear it working when pressing volume up or down on remote or side Toggle.

If I disconnect either ribbon going from TCON to Panel the backlights come on Still nothing on the screen though. Could one or more of the ribbons on the panel be damaged or could the drivers in the ribbons be shorted causing this NO PICTURE NO BL fail when all connected up??

Hope this make sense, and thanks for any help in advance.

Test all pins on connector from mainboard to powerbard on powerboard side, all boards connected. Test in standby/plugged in but off, then apply power report both conditions, example: pin 1 bl-on=0 volts standby and 3.3 powered on, report results for every pin. Not sure, maybe something on tcon or panel, causing the no psu-on voltage?

Is this a 3D smart tv. Do you have any photo's of the circuit boards and the interconnections between them.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

Yes Dick I do believe this is the 3D smart TV - I will get pictures of all boards and upload tonight.

The pictures below are of the exact same model if any good until I get home later on tonight.

                      Thanks

"If I disconnect either ribbon going from TCON to Panel the backlights come on Still nothing on the screen though. " So if all cables in place, do you get 12V at the T-CON fuse?

Hi budm I get 12v at the fuse both sides with the ribbon connected and disconnected.

                              Check other voltages.

ok... provide some more detail about these. "tcon disconnected"... what does that mean.... totally or "one side".

back up abit, you indicated, with either tcon to panel disconnected, get BL but no display... but is the display blank or white. can you provide a picture of display of these two "scenarios"?

Yep, shows us the screenshot when having just one ribbon cable between TCON and panel connected one at a time.

Tcon disconnected totally, and tcon to panel either or both side BL comes on.

The display is blank. As soon as I get a minute to get back to the TV I will grab more pics and also more voltage measurements.
