    A1706 no power, no liquid

    Hi,

looking at a friend's dead MacBook Pro (A1706). Input voltage 20.41V with a current of 21mA.

Upon visual inspection I noticed blown capacitor C6580 and verified that a short to ground exists.

I am assuming this is the same cap as the ones nearby labelled NEB CN7, which I've tracked down to Mouser part number 80-T521B336M016ATE70

Can anyone with a A1706 board confirm that C6580 is indeed labelled NEB CN7?

    Thanks & cheerio, Harry.

One quick way of answering questions like this is to do an image search for that logic board model. One such (cropped) result is attached, where you can see all caps are labeled "CN7".

Note that last letter of the top line is unimportant. It's just a manufacturing month code. "NE" is the product code and CN7 is the rating (33uF 16V).

Thanks @BlueMidnight - could have thought of that myself
It also means I bought the right part

Will report back as soon as I've had a chance to replace the cap.
