Synology NAS - stuck at 10mbps

hello guys, got a nas synology with motherboard DDM21L 1P to fix

this one take storm...damn, after that hdd dies but the nas can boot fine
it works only on 10bmps and not switches to 1000mbps

on look, there is no burnt areas, no resistor burn and can't find any short.

i look in the datasheet of the marvell ehernet controller : 88E1512 but i don't understand how it works.
i think TX_CLK control the connection speed but not sure of that.

do you know if i can block (by jumpers for example) the speed of this crap ?

    thank you

    check the transormer or magjack,
10m only uses 2 pairs, 100m+ use all 4 pairs
bad cable will cause it too

The 100Mbit I've seen can run on 2 pairs. All the 1000Mbit I've run across require 4 pairs.
I have a damaged Gbit switch from static electricity that will no longer negotiate 1000Mbit links on the damaged port but will do 10... I don't recall if it will do 100 however.

        hello

i've tested more things : in fact all magjack pins had very low resitance to ground : only 2ohms
what i supposed to be 3.3V to.

i try inject some low voltage to search for defective component as always, at 3V 2amp, drain rise then stop..
now i've got 140 in diode mode, no beep and 89ohm resistance to ground.

i'll try it like this and will tell you

Are you sure the problem is "inside" the NAS? Have you replaced cable(s) to switch and host? Have you replaced switch? Have you checked for bent pins on the 8P8c's?

I suspect you can TELNET into the NAS and obtain a console. What does it indicate the status of the switch to be? Are you sure the switch hasn't been TOLD to use 10 MHz?

also check if there are magnetics inside the jack. not all jacks are the same straight through, it depends on the network IC on the board. Here is an example:
            http://www.datasheetdir.com/G27US-310339A+Discretes
All this could be inside one jack! Check the pins inside the jack.

normally need to inspect the board carefully, and check if there are any possible burnt traces.

check transformer, check network jack and another cable.

check components around the network chip.

another way is to replace the marvell network ic chip.
