    Lg42bl580 bad backlights tips

Did 2 of these over the last 2 days

    1 was striaght forward enough
the other one was abit more puzziling
    was intermittent

and using a led tester the leds always worked.
so one the last try, i started measuring the resistance between the connecting the strips..

My advice is always do this, or just always bridge the connections
one had high resistance, it didnt do anythign when using the tester but it would take the backlight out when powered by the tv psu.

Also they new type leds whats going on with the glue they are using the leds just fall off if you touch them sometimes...
    mad times

LED's fall off or the lens?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

I have had a few problems with the odd lense coming off when removing strips, I find alraldite works well to replace them, if your finding the led's themselves coming off then you are probably doing something wrong lol.

I think they're getting so hot the glue is affected. One of these TVs people could justifiably throw back at LG. Definitely a limited life expectancy

The type of lens shown in the pic

you just brush your arm past them some times they are falling off
even on tv's with no led issues

i think its bad glue they have used...
              Its just piss poor.
I have one just fall off in the tv, I was wonder whats with the bright spot on the lcd lol...
              Just a another nightmare

I have seen videos where almost all of the lens have fallen off. For whatever reason it is that type lens

its a pain move this particular tv today and could hear a lens that had dropped off..
Going to take it apart again and remove all the lens and stick them back on with stong adhesive,
Might go with some epoxy type stuff for this set ...
                  its a pain

Yeah those are the ones I have had problems with in the past, I find a high temperature epoxy resin does the job well enough.
