    SMD Memory chip identification

Has anybody came across a memory chip like this? Is there a way to decode what this is in order to read it?

All it says on it is "Y" in the corner then "5CAY" under that.

I tried to read it like a generic 25 series memory but it returned gibberish.

From a specialized machine, it counts work hours and cycles of machine part, kinda like toner cartridge chip if you say

could be a similar chip to car dashboards,
they contain an eeprom based counter that can only go up - although there are programmers that can reset it somehow.

The ic could be a microwire, that's why it could not be read. my guess is a custom number, tracing out the pins might give an idea as to what it is.
