      Wow thank you

Just to be sure, this dump can be used on the other 2 L560 I have here with same BIOS PWD issue?

      Thanks!

Yes you can but you may end up with late display. That might require cleaning the me region.

The bios i have uploaded is extracted from lenovo web update merged with your dump. As long as your backup is ok-it should have worked.

The kbc in use here is npce388 which is programmable. The password may be stored in kbc also. If you have kbc programmer, then try programming kbc

                    Hi there!

I will roll back the bios with the original backup and test it tomorrow.

I dont have a KBC programmer unfortunately.

Could this be an issue to unlock these laptops?

I will update the thread tomorrow.

                    Thanks!

The password is stored in the npce388. You will need a KBC programmer as mcplslg123 said .

                        Hi!

                        Thanks for the info!

So no need to do anything with this chip I've been trying to re program?

                        Just reprogram the KBC then?

Can you send me a link or recommend a good KBC programmer for this?

would this one be a good option?

Yes, just program the kbc. Svod is a good choice.

                              Hi there,

Yes, SVOD seems to be a nice programmer.

As I dont do these jobs too often, do you think the one I referred could also do the job?

Or SVOD is a much better investment long therm wise?

                              Thanks,

                              Jose Rei

The programmer in your link is probably Vertyanov which is also a good choice. I dont know about the price difference between svod and Vertyanov in your country. You can go for it or if you dont intende to use it frequently -look for pre-programmed kbc for your model.

                                  Hi there!
                                  Thanks again for your feedback.

When you mean to look for pre-programmed KBC for this model, you mean the programming for the IC right?

Is this coming with the software of the programmer? or should be downloaded?

Sorry for all the questions again.

PS : I think I can get the SVOD V3 for 150€. maybe its a good investment

Pre-programmed kbc means the kbc is already flashed with dump specific to that mb. So no need to flash kbc on your end assuming the kbc you buy is ok and correct program is flashed. I advised so as you said you dont intend to use it frequently. Else go for svod3. Its a good investment.

Do you know where I could by some programmed KBC's for this particular model?

                                        Oh dear...

Remember I said both laptops I flashed with the clear Bios did not turned on after?

Just rolled back the dump to the original one, and still no power, nothing.
Quick measurements, 20V entering in the DC jack.
Bios chip Ov in all pins... no good...

No knocked components, bios chip well soldered, no shorts.

What could be the cause for this? KBC chip ?

                                        Kinda lost now...
