I have a customer who is having an issue with a smartTV. His wife sprayed the screen with mr clean and now its acting weird. When he is using his remote to change from the on screen options, it seems to have a mind of its own. It will move on its own between icons on screen, or when he moves it left, it moves to the right. Any idea what could be causing this? It worked fine before cleaning so I assume its a screen issue.

Re: TV acting strange after cleaning screen
Diagnose it first.
Unplug the buttons from the main board.
Use the remote and see if it still changes icons etc.
If not then you know it's the buttons.
Good chance someone will be selling them.
Alternatively use your ohm meter and check for differences in resistance.
Or of course, just tell the customer to use the remote and leave the buttons disconnected.

Re: TV acting strange after cleaning screen
It is also bad if it uses one of those screen where the tab bonding boards are at the bottom side in stead of on the top side of the screen, they get corroded and ruin the screen, seen that many times.Never stop learning
