Good article, thankyou !

To those of us still learning, that adds another dimension to why things don't go as planned.

So, how does this affect much of the focus in this site, when we see ceramic caps close to and even leaning against heatsinks in switching power supplies ?

The aluminum electrolytic capacitor pitfalls article pretty much explains why most of us are here on this site

It's interesting how much variance there is in failures.
For example I have an office full of 17 and 19 inch LCD monitors. Mostly Dell and LG.

Some last 3 years, some 4, and some are 5 years old and older and have no issues.
I bet if I opened up a 5 year old one, it would have bulging caps, it just hasn't died yet.
