    Solar Cells

Anyone here have experience with the big solar cells that mount on your home roof for power generation? I'm considering buying some in the future, but I'm curious about what kind of voltage/current they can supply.

I have mostly compact flourescent lights in my house, so I'm thinking I could build a nice system out of a couple old UPS units, some batteries, and solar cells. I'm sick of paying $200-350/month for gas and electric.

i have a bunch in use.
    start looking for state/gov auctions.
    only cost effective way.
btw i have mostly 12/24 volt dc fluorescents for lighting.
i also run most wallwart powered stuff direct from 12v
like my answering machine rated 9v.its wallwart stays at 13.5v most of the time so direct it went with no problem.
i set up several small systems for neighbors too.
i wound up with a ton of those 24v dc ballasts if anyone needs them cheap.
