Honda Civic speedometer cluster - "inverted gas gauge"

This seems like a common problem, so I thought I would post it here. This cluster also had one flickering segment in the speedometer display. There are three LCDs in this cluster, and there were cracked solder joints for the fuel gauge (image 1) and speedometer (image 2) LCDs. The temperature gauge LCD (image 3) looked okay, but I resoldered all three LCDs. There is conformal coating over most of the solder joints on this board, so that should be removed first. It does melt with heat, but melting through it with the soldering iron isn't the best idea.

This car hasn't been driven enough to know if it's fixed yet. I'll see what happens later. Those solder joints were definitely one problem, even if they weren't the only problem.

By the way, the instructions here are wrong. Only the bottom screw is accessible by removing that trim panel (at least on a 2010 model).
