    Rubycon YXA, 2200uF 16v:

    ..except that the top and the bottom are more look like sanyo:

    sanyo and rubycon in one body?

    (i found them in an electric piano/organ made in china, iirc)

      could be total counterfiet.could be rubycon had insuficiant stock of this value and bought stock from sanyo and applied rubycon shrinkwrap.this was very common with vacuum tubes
      btw i replaced some sanyo looking caps that were labeled towa.
      they were in the psu of a newall dp7 dro.

        umm, thats possible, but i don think itś that easy... i mean it will change the spec of the product if they do that...

            Re: Fake Rubycon caps?

            i feel tired. i feel empty. i feel angry. i was hoping too much for this cap, then it also turned out to be a counterfeit :

            https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...5648e9175f.pdf

            a counterfeit? wrong font? unmatched dimension with the datasheet?

            i don't have an esr meter to test with...

            frustated. i slice them with an axe. and look at the inside:

            original YXF -> grey, juicy

            suspicious YXG -> grey, juicy

            original MBZ -> blue(!), dry

            fake YXA -> dark

            teapo -> dark

            GSC -> white!

            FC -> dark

            jackon -> silver, juicy

            still frustated.

                Re: Fake Rubycon caps?

                Now that's dedication, I admire your curious spirit.

                We've seen copies before (Rulycon) that tried to fake it, but these are really trying to come off as counterfeit ones.

                Shouldn't people be looking into these sorts of things? Damn. This can't be good at all for Rubycon if it happens on a huge scale, and maybe they need to hear about it.

                  In a Tenma 72-10495 (Korad 3005D-2S rebadge), it had fake Rubycon USP series units (rated at 105ºC, whereas genuine units of this series are actually rated at 85ºC) for the input filter.
                  Although not fully shown, the fakes in the picture had varying vent styles.

                        Are those fakes? Bought new 2 or 3 years ago in local shop which mainly stock from tme.eu I suspect.

                        Readings:
                        SANYO (1500*6.3V) 0.13ohm 2.8% 840.7uF
                        Jamicon (1500*10V) 26pF
                        Other nonbulged Jamicon 0.03ohm 3.1% 1457uF

                          Definitely very poor Rubycons.

                            TME does not sell fakes, it is your re-distributor who most likely ripped you off. Buy direct next time. They also stock cheaper caps such as Elite...

                              The Sanyo caps are definitely fake, as they do NOT use a "T" vent. They use a "K" vent (different from Rubycon's, but still a K).

                              As for the Jamicon.... they may or may not be fake, though I think they are, as most Jamicon I've seen are black with blue printing. But either way, why would you even want to use Jamicon? They are not good at all. Only their DC fans are alright.

                                    Ah, I see.
                                    In that case, you're better off going to an e-recycling center and picking up some CRT TVs and monitors - preferably Sony and Panasonic as they use Japanese caps inside. Sure they are only general purpose 85C rated ones, but I trust them more than Jamicon.

                                    They do, lol. But the caps are too small to matter.
