    Hisense 50k23dg with power issues?

I replaced the main board on my TV but it's still having the same issue: When you plug it in, the red light doesn't always stay on so you can press power. I have to fidget with the AC power in and get it just right (seems kind of random really) and then the light will stay on and there's a chance the TV will power on when you press it. If not, you have to unplug and replug till you find the sweet spot and the light stays on again.

Once the TV is on though it powers on and off fine. But once you turn it off for an hour or so and comeback, you would think the TV is totally dead unless you were an obsessively persistent nutter like me.

    Thoughts?

Check for poor solder connections on the a/c input jack on the power supply board, you could also have a bad cap in the standby circuit

Ok, sorry. That's what I actually replaced then, the power supply board. It turns out it wasn't the exact same model (pulled from the same model TV though) but it functions just like the other one did, with the same problem. I too assumed it must be something loose on the AC in

We need good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards so we can see what we are dealing with.

I'm currently watching it, so I'm unable to take a pic of mine right at the moment... but this is identical:

I noticed one time that when I it was plugged in, but the right light not on to try to turn it on, that the chromecast I had plugged into it was still getting power.

With the TV plugged in, whether you get the red light or not, are you getting Std-By voltage on the PSU?

The pictures of the board is not clear enough to read the pin names.
So if you check the Voltages of all the pin of the connector of the power supply that goes to the main board, what DC Voltages do you get on all the pins.
When you report the readings you MUST PUT DOWN THE PIN NAME AND FOLLOW BY THE VOLTAGE reading of each pin.
It is very important to follow the request and the instructions.
Just remember that we do not have the TV or the boards in front of us to look at so the more details you provide the better chance of getting the problems fixed.

If you look at time stamp of 2:33, he said to set the meter to DC CURRENT, now if some one is a noob and set the meter to DC current then try to probe the output of the power supply he may see nice smoke coming from the board or the meter. So be very careful when watching the YouTube.

"The you tube" is a GREAT source, there's people all over the world that have vast knowledge, it's not something to be threatened by, no room for big egos or condescension, box it up. I don't care how much "expertise" someone has, if it comes with insults and sarcasm, you can keep it, and as far as helping me fix it, I re-read my thread, all you really did was insult me, I don't know what kind of trip you are on but that's your problem not mine. I have helped many people on many forums and all without being rude to them, go read some of your posts, maybe nobody's took the time to tell you before but hey I go the extra mile. I wasn't raised to be rude, that's why I don't put up with it.

Well, when some one instruct you to out meter in DC AMP to measure the Voltage, do you think that is not a good instruction?
Try that yourself and see what will happen! It is ego, it about proper instruction!
                            Listen to what he said!

It took 12 posts to get you to set the meter properly.

Go back and listen to his instruction at 2:33!
"Put it in DC current" when the Meter shows DC V.
What do you set the meter to when instruction tells to set meter in DC Current, or tell you to set to DC Volt?

So did you go and listen to the instruction? for the DIY that still learning and listen to the instructor on what to set the meter to can put themselves in worst situation due to improper instruction..
Same instruction as not to touch anything in the deadly hot side of the circuit with your hands or your body, proper instruction is important.
