replacing a capacitor with one of different style

This is my first post. If this is off topic, please excuse me.

I plan to replace a 2.0 uF 450 vac capacitor with one with the same spec. This should be no problem if they are of the same style. In my case, the one to be replaced is cylindrical, about 1.5 cm in radius and 3.5 cm long (can't find the model number on it). The one to replace it is a CBB61. This is for a ceiling fan.

Capacitors can be made of different materials and sizes. I wonder if they can be replaced with a same spec one regardless of the material it is made of.

As long as it says 2.0uF 450Vac it will work, regardless if it is axial or radial. Just ensure where it fits with the cover back on it would not short circuit on anything.
