    another lcd did NOT solved the problem, so i did reflow and it worked
    its i5 + onboard intel + descrete vga

    motherboard foxconn star federer

    two days ago VGA stopped working again, caps lock blink... since i do not need performance and i do not own rework station, i was wondering could you help me disable discrete ati vga on this motherboard and switch only to intel uma vga and like youve done with that dell

          ive done some work, placed some components (pics will come later), flashed bios and laptop came back to life... but i still see ATI DSC vga in device manager... :/

          moded bios with unlocked features and menus (it was working before), now does not work, caps lock blinks
          i had to restore bios by eeprom tool (not problem for me...)

          now comes testing

          @highpulse
          did not remove mosfet, my solution worked before you post, so... in future i will test your method as well, seems simpler

            so you leave the coil there and remove only the FET?

            and if they are 2 there?
            Just cook it! It's already broken.

                  its nice to have a toy to play
                  i managed to upgrade ME frimware and unlock hidden menus in bios... so far so good.... (other moded bios did not work for me cos i dont have second vga, machine did not boot with them so i unlocked it myself )

                  next i will try to put me7 (insted factory me6) to see will it have any advantages or will it work at all

                  i will post results as usual

                        Can I only take the coil out?

                        Or I need to take fets out instead of coil?

                            dj ricoh i was wrong , not the fet , you must remove DGPU output ic , usually pu320

                                Re: hp g62 help disable DSC vga

                                well this , one its a bitch ..
                                machine was giving image after a short grafic reflow , my coworker replaced chip and he noticed that machine started to give white screen only .. so we have removed pu320 to disable discrete , but STILL SAME with ibtel grafic .
                                So therefor we tought some problems with mux or cpu or pch , possible problem , before replaced does cheked pin 40 39 38 , -19 volts ok pins 1 and 2 vccLCd 3.3 , +3.3vs as well present , so all voltafges are present on the lvds connecctor.

                                so replaced both mux , same issue white screen , replaced cpu and ram , same issue . replaced pch same issue . replaced screen assembly same issue ... got always white screen .

                                cheked bios , same issue ... even replaced the amount of transistor from Backlight to lcd enable all the 13 transistors were relaced just in case , even the good ones that i tested. stlll same issue .
                                so it only can be a signal issue .. but who send the signal to LVDS is pch among with the mux ..and both replaced and still same issue !!!!!
                                really dont know what else to go !! if someone have an idea that want to share , im all hears !

                                  well thats what i call bad luck after all , if you remember i mentioned i had replaced screen assembly 2 times , but after all both assemblys were wth dmaged panels .....

                                  somethimes the fix is just there ,but we trust to much in stupid basic instincts , ehhe
                                  fixed

                                    to fully convert form DSC to UMA either remove PU320 or disconnect PJ19

                                    then switch resistors like in pic

                                    RI53 RI56 and RI51 RI55. -> SKU ID UMA

                                    works 100%

                                    sometimes you need to reflash bios after conversion
