    SGI Multilink Adapter

So I picked up a known not working SGI MLA adapter for a 1600SW SGI panel (I know this works, tested on a SGI O2) a few weeks ago. The adapter lets you use a 1600SW panel with DVI input.

The guy I got it from was going to chuck it in the bin but I thought I'd see if I could see anything wrong on the pcb as usually these suffer from blown mosfets. The mosfets appear fine and unit powers on but produces a solid red status led.

There was however a dodgy looking three-legged component (suspect a paired diode?) that looked like it's coocked. The plastic package has burnt and bulged in the middle. I can only make out a 'Z' on the left of the package.

Any ideas how to obtain the specs of this component or source a replacement?
    Thanks in advance.

No, that's the only one on the whole pcb, top or bottom.

I've asked if anybody on the neko forum has one and could check the part description.

Does anybody know how to test these? I've been looking at mouser but don't have a clue what to pick up. Somebody did send a photo of their board but it's a different rev with slightly different components.

        (Sorry, see next post)

            i think it's a 4.7v zener diode.

Thank you very much, I'll give it a go as I don't really have anything else to go on, and if it doesn't work then I'm no worse off!

What about the JV3 H? Am I looking at one of these?

looks like BAT54 in my book.

One of those it is then. I'll get some ordered and see how it goes.

                  Thanks for your help, appreciated.
