    Samsung LE40R87BD

    Hi All
Could do with some more help with this set ? . The original fault was dead with the led flashing , so I changed caps in p/s set would still not power up so carried out eprom reset shorting pins 5/6 got it to power up and was rewarded with set powered up with back lights on sound but no picture. Then replaced t-con board still no picture , then advised to change ic1830 for a 24c256 so changed this still no picture then I was advised to change main board.
Now this is where I am having trouble the part number on this board is BN41-00813E-MP1,0 when I search this number it comes up as a Samsung LE32R87BD not LE40R87BD. can any one tell me are these boards the same or does the screen size have any bearing ?
If any one could help clear this for me and any help where to source a replacement board all sites I have visited say out of stock. Or better still have a working board they can let me have of (course all costs met with in reason)

Would appreciate any help Regards Ron

BN41-XXXXXX is the blank board (PCB, board not stuffed with components), you need the PCBA (PCB assembly, board stuffed with parts), that numbers are on the bardcode sticker, in your case, the PCBA is BN94-01472M.

FYI: Blank board can be stuffed with different components as needed for particular PCBA, so same blank board can be used for so many different PCBA.

I have used a 32" board in a 40" version of this Tv, did this for price/availability reasons, I only had to enter the service menu and change screen type, version and size.

          Hi budm/Dang
          Thank you for your replies.
I have been trying to source a board on Google and eBay without success I have seen similar boards with the same parts and connections in the exact same place on the boards but they are for different models or same model number but smaller screen would these work if altered settings in menu ?
They are practically identical to my board!!
I think I have seen one board but that was for £70+ far to expensive how do you make a profit when parts are that sort of price just to much to pay to then find out this does not cure the faults.
Any more help with this set would be much appreciated unfortunately I have not done a lot of work on these flat screens most of my work was carried out on crt's.
          Regards Ron

Just looking at a picture of a LE37R87BD main board priced at £39.99 +£4.99 pp and it looks identical to my main board. Would this work in my LE40R87BD if I were to change pict size and panel type in the setting ? Any one 100% sure it will.

                  Re: Samsung LE40R87BD

Quite a common issue--caps in the PSU fail and corrupt the mainboard.

Had one today, had to change the M.B. too, grabbed the first one off the pile, bunged it in--it worked, pic size all correct, --I didn't even check the number.....

--A working M.B will work--providing the correct Series/Type--even if the number isnt correct generally Good for checking dead sets anyway--
--Whether the picture will be completely right and all the options as intended is completely another matter!

                  I suspect it Wasn't from a 40", havent seen many 40's.....

                    Thank you Alastair
for your response that makes more sense . Looking at these boards I just can't believe they wouldn't work even on close examination 95% of the components are identical.
unfortunately I don't have any M.B to just grab one and test so will have to bite the bullet and send for one and hope I don't loose £45.00 in the process.

Right, I had three Bordeaux boards.

Chance would have it, I had a 37" Sams. with a Bordeaux in too. It had dodgy caps on 24V line, quickly fixed, so I tested the first two I had.

One oldish/cruddy/dirty looking one wouldn't boot--so it got booted!

The second boots fine, but cannot test for picture, as the LVDS plug is different on the set--Its the full HD 1080p set, (Very unusual, only the second 1080p Ive seen in 6 months, the other was a 37" LG--now in me bedroom!) and has different panel.

I note though, this working/booting board has the same socket type as your board. I'll dig it out from car later and give you its numbers, although looking earlier, I couldn't determine the panel size it was intended/set for.

The third, I found later in the day and is so far untested, but is marked, 32".

Right, Here are some numbers for you--

top of board, above that interface-socket, printed in white ident- Bordeaux plus 2007.05.23
                                below that-- BN41-00813E-MP1.0

                                Paper label below interface-socket, --Bordeaux IDTV37, 110619 C818 05

                                Paper label on tuner-- HU 10 BN94-1121S 010026874510 0094

Small letters, same label-- Bordeaux IDtv 37" AUO 393A 2007.1/1004/1013 BREDA
--There's a metallic plastic label on the tuner, but I believe this relates to the tuner, The DNOS403Mxxx number....

So--looks like this board is intended/set for a 37" AUO LCD panel....

What make/type panel is your 40"? It'll probably work, but you'll need to set screen-size in the engineer/options menus....

I think you are right with this board a lot of the numbers are very similar and the two numbers printed on the board are identical, As long as all the sockets are in the same place I can't see why it wouldn't work any way I have nothing to lose do I .
If you wouldn't mind sending it to me I would be very grateful.
