    3DS AC adapter

I have about 10 of these with same issue, seem to work until connected to a device, then it just dies. Unplugging for a few seconds resets it again.

I can measure 5v at output, but as soon as I connect the other end to the 3DS, the light show (charging) for a split second, then no light.

Possible just the caps need replaced?

maybe, what does it say on the caps?

dont try too hard btw, they are only 5v @ 1a, you can replace them with usb chargers from poundland!!!

btw, i assume you know the DS is good??
i know they can suffer from bad charging ports and bloated batteries.

It looks like current is measured across R29, if the voltage at the output wires drops too much I suspect ic2 it turns of the supply. R29 looks like 125Ω you could connect your ground to the other side of R29 and see if the supply stays on, if it does its likely the 3DS is drawing too much current.
You could also try bridging another 100Ω across R29 to see what happens
