Default Can it be handy on monitor fixing ?

Hi!
I was wondering am i right if i say it goes out of range on capacitors above 200uF and therefore becomes useless on power supply repairs ?

The capacitance measuring is pretty pointless anyway.

Capacitors can show you the right capacitance value within +/- 20% yet have a high internal resistance which would affect the circuit.

You need an ESR meter for capacitors, it would be more useful than simply measuring capacity.

Many ATX power supplies, motherboards, and lcd monitors/TV will have caps as high as 3300uF. Some multimeters will measure capacitance up to 10,000uF so there is no need for a separate device.

As mariushm points out, measuring ESR is more important.

Your fellow countryman, RusMike, makes the ESR 4.0 is also a member here.
