I have a cq58 mb in hand with pch failure. Pch is intel SLJ8F. I dont have this chipset in hand but have plenty of SLJ8E. Can it be replaced??

You can try, there are some difference but in the past I tried this with success but I don't remember if hm75 replaced hm76 or hm76 replaced hm75
slj8f is HM75 (only usb 2)
slj8e is HM76 (usb 2 and 3)

Thanks jasko for replying. I'm aware of the differences as i have read the datasheet but felt like they can be changed. I think HM75 can be replaced with HM76 and not vice versa and that is exactly what i want to do. I'll try and post result in few days.
