    Optiplex 520 with bad cap(s)

Have a Optiplex SFF Desktop here with a single visibly blown Ruby on it. Just aft of the processor heatsink output, of course. PC won't POST, just sits at an amber power light.

The 520's appear to have the same capacitor compliment as the 620's, at least in the SFF box. I'll start by replacing the larger values and see if that resolves the issues. According to the 620 thread, the 220uf caps can cook, too, but I don't have any in stock to replace them all.

    On to the pics.

    Ludicrous gibs!

Just as an aside, the caps were not what was causing the PC to not work. The power supply had failed, also. A quick scan of the unit showed no bad caps, and in the course of testing voltages, I let out the magic smoke. Crossed the bottom of the board over a section of the casing and shorted it out. Bang, smoke, time to head to eBay for a replacement!

520 and 620 SFF PSUs burn out the 70X70X15mm usually ADDA fans pretty frequently.
