    aftermarket sound software for win7?

is there any "aftermarket" sound mixer/driver/software that doesn't use windows's shitty sound driver/mixer? i have win7 on one of my desktops and sound cards (HDMI/PCI-e/Onboard) that sound good with pulse on Linux sound horrid on win7!
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Excuse me while i do something dangerous

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

That's a known issue with the SoundBlaster Live series on Vista and later. (At least the crackling) (But, never heard of stuff like that with onboard audio)

the PCI-e is an audigy FX. and its not a crackling, it just sounds flat and unresponsive and dull.

I dunno. All I knew was that the beloved Emu 10K1-based SoundBlasters have a crackle under Windows 7. The Windows start up tune has crackling.
