LG BP620 DVD player lightning hit / not working now.

I have a LG BP620 Blue Ray/DVD 3D player that was another victim of a lightning strike. Seems that the strike came through the cable line, taking out cable box then transferring to the HDMI cable (in which I had a HDMI hub) that made its way to the DVD player. It won't power on or do anything. Normally, when you plug it in, it would make a power up "sound", but it is not doing anything.
I really like the unit, as I just got a used one from Ebay to replace it. If it is something I can inexpensively replace in the unit to make it work again, I would like to give it a try.
Is there anyone here that can lead me in the right direction on which item might need to be replaced and where I could get it?

    Thanks

Photographs of the inside so we can see what we're dealing with.

Please upload good clear pictures. Do you have tools to do troubleshooting and repairing down to component level?

I checked the fuse (with multi meter, only troubleshooting tool I have) and it is good.

Here are some pics, let me know if you need any closer up or more detailed...

        Thanks

Check those diodes and resistors in the area where the power cord is coming in, meter in diode mode, each end of probe on each end of diode should get a reading in one direction reverse the leads should read 1 or OL. Thats for the diodes, resistors will read same both ways. Sometimes it's just about impossible to get an accurate reading of a resistor in circuit.

Check the voltage on CN901 pin5 (5v) or check if you have any DC voltage on these diodes I marked, If they are 0 then check the large 5 watt resistor near the ac input, If it is ok, check the two green flameproof resistors (R130 & R104) near the ic101.

R J...I checked for DC voltage at the locations you said. I am seeing voltage of 15.1 at the two smaller items on the left at about 5 or so at the big one on the right.

Ok thats good, the power supply is working, I suspect the problem will be with the main board

i am almost betting that the hdmi goes straight to the main processor. Usually that means game over unless you replace the main board or that IC.

I tried to find if the board was available, it doesn't seem to be. Is it possible to replace the main chip on the board and where could you find one?

More likely the IC for the HDMI is damaged. Look at the IC by the HDMI port and get the P/N so you can get the spec sheet to find out if the VCC pins may be shorted out, but since you do not have tools to do SMD level repair then it will be a waste of time to look for the IC's.

Will having a bad chip at the HDMI cause the unit not to power on? What tool would be needed to check the IC? What does IC stand for???

If it shorted out then it can lock up the micro controller.
                            IC = Integrated circuit.
Tools? You need the IC spec sheet, DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.
Even if you find bad IC's, then what?

unfortunately I think this is a lost cause. I'd part it for other projects.
