IBM Netvista 8309-16A recap

Hey there,

I have an IBM Netvista 8309-16A motherboard which i have successfully recapped. I only got one problem, the newer cap is bigger than the old cap, therefore it touches some of the SMT components around it. Currently it just touches the side of a transistor which is the size of a rice grain. Does this pose a problem?

The computer is booting and running fine btw.

I just hope that the transistor doesnt fall off one day....

As long as one of the legs of the cap is not touching anything, you should be OK. If in doubt, try insulating it.
