    samsung un46d6000 no picture

i have a samsung un46d6000 that when powered on the light blinks 5 times the goes out, the turns on for second goes out and then comes back on. I bought a replacement T-con board same issue.

I've unplugged the power going to the main board, the backlight comes right on.

any suggestions on what the next step would be to isolate the issue?

any help, advice, or opinions greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at the voltage at the BLE_On/Off on connector CNM803A with both the mainboard connected then disconnected. If you had a backlight fault then the mainboard could be switching it off. No idea of the blink sequence meaning. Perhaps someone can shed light on the blink code for this set.
    Have you seen the following:

is there a method to check if the main board is communicating with and powering the tcon?

Check the DCV when TV is turned on at each end of the SMD fuse on the T-CON board against the chassis GND to see if you do have 12VDC (or 5VDC depends on the LCD panel) at both ends of the fuse.
If you do have the DCV then next thing to do will be having one ribbon cable between the LCD panel and the T-CON board connected one at a time to see what you see on the screen.

            Re: samsung un46d6000 no picture

So I went ahead and checked the DCV at both sides of the SMD fuse on the TCON. 12v at both sides.

Unplugged each side of the panel and tested, right side of panel works with either ribbon cable left side doesn't work with either ribbon cable.

Where do I go from here?

One side of panel works, other doesn't and you have replaced T-Con.

Bad tab bonds, possible to apply pressure to the faulty tab to bring back the picture.

I have the same model. My samsung powers on and has 5 blinks, no backlight, but the picture and menu are visible by flashlight.

No sign that the flashlight test was done by OP or what the result was.

This TV seems to have no model ID label anywhere on the enclosure. Is that normal for this model or the UN series? I will have to try entering the service menu to see if a model number is in there.

Upload good clear pictures of the whole backside of the TV so we can see all the boards.
What is the P/N of the power supply board? BN44-?????

"This TV seems to have no model ID label anywhere on the enclosure." I do not understand what you are asking.

                                    Samsung UN46D6000 - No Picture

                                    Same symptoms as the title:
Plugged In - Red Light Blinking on front right side
5 sets of 2 quick blinks, then 1 Long blink

Picture Black, No Sound, no response to Remote Control
No apparent signs of power other than the blinking Red Light

Pix here, Please advise if they are labelled wrong:

                                    - All Boards (T-Con Covered)

                                    - Main CPU/Receiver Board

                                    - T-Con Board

                                    - Power Board

                                    - Power Board - Connector CNM803/CNM803A

I found (thus far) the following Fuses:

                                    Power Board:
                                    - FP802S
                                    - FS802S

                                    T-Con Board:
                                    - F11

There may be more fuses....please advise

Any ideas on where to start?

                                    Thanks for any advice.

                                        Re: samsung un46d6000 no picture

                                        Thanks budm,

I'll keep that in my Samsung folder.
The model number in that Manual is exactly as mine: UN46D6000SFXZA

As per the Fast Track Troubleshooting Manual...
I saw an online video that suggested the "Forced Backlight-On Mode":
                                        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvH1ph77Sog

I disconnected on the Power board side, CNM-803, with no results of lights coming on.

So I tested the pin out of the light connector CNL-802, with no power to the Main board (ie CNM-803 disconnected).
Also, CNL-802 was disconnected and I tested the CNM-803 pins on the Power board.

                                        From GND to Pin 1 = "Top1 +", I got a high DC voltage jump to ~260VDC.
Then, it slowly came down to 0 (or a very low reading).
Then, it jumped back up to 260VDC and repeated the slow discharge.

                                        - Power Board - Connector CNL802, to LED Lights

Assuming the Power board is bad, could we troubleshoot down to the component?
Or, would it be best to just replace it, if so, shopjimmy.com?, Other?

Lastly, is there a way to test the LED lights, I have a variable DC power supply, but
I'm not sure of the voltage required. Any suggestions?

                                        Thanks again for any advice,

                                        Jasen
