LG 60PK250 POWER SUPPLY EAX61432501 clicking

LG 60PK250 POWER SUPPLY EAX61432501 clicking on then off, stand by light flashing, no picture no sound, when power button bushed tv do the same thing again and again
the resistors for vs R927 R928 R929 tested good ( not open)
    all small resistors r103 r104 r105r106 r107 r108 r109 r110 r112 r113 tested good (not open)
all fuses are good (not open)
changed ic301 still the same problem
other boards tested for shorted mosfets transistors
the small burned spot on the back of the board is from my hot air gun
any help and suggest will be great.

If I can see clear close-up pics of the labels on the jacks, I may be able to show you how to 'self-test' the PSU.

It sounds like your standby Voltage is not steady, may be due to bad startup/running small lytics caps in the HOT side of the power supply.

        thanks for the quick replay,
andrew let me know if this picture is more clear
budm so you think i start changing only the small caps first by in the hot side.
i ll post the result later
        thx

Make a test light with a pair of 120Vac 100W lightbulbs connected in series. With ALL the connectors removed from the PSU, connect a short wire from the std-by pin to the M-ON pin and another short wire from the std-by pin to the RL-ON pin. Connect now the two (2) ends of your test light across Vs and GND. Plug the PSU into the ac and what do you get??Test light does not glow-then PSU bad. If the test light glows bright then Vs is OK. Measure M5V-None-then PSU not working properly. Yes-PSU probably good. Measure Va. Is it within spec? No-then PSU not working. Yes- then you have confirmed your PSU is OK and can go ahead and look for your problem on another board.

Re: LG 60PK250 POWER SUPPLY EAX61432501 clicking

andrew, i did that test and this what i got:
first time i plugged it to the power clicked and the lightbulbs turned on, va good, vs good, and m5v good too,
the voltage on the connector goes to the motherboard good as marked on the board, DC-DET 5v.
i unplugged it and plugged again, started clicks for long time before the lightbulbs turned on
i let it on for couple minute, then i installed the board to the tv quick. tv turned on showed the pictures, turned it off/on clicks no power.
unplugged the tv from the power for 2 hrs when i tested the tv after that the tv did turn on fine. turned it off/on clicks no power.
is it it a bad caps as budm mentioned!!!
do i have to change all the caps in the hot side?

Look for a new PSU. If you replaced and installed correctly the polarities of the e-caps and resoldered any suspected joints as recommended. The Main Bd etc appear to be OK as you did get picture.

Re: LG 60PK250 POWER SUPPLY EAX61432501 clicking

Had the same clicking LG 60PK250 plasma-TV. Symptoms: Three relay clicks in a neverending cycle and stuck on STBY. On the power board VA and VS were missing.

This power board was a later revision EAY60968901 with three power resistors. The power resistors R927-R929 measured just fine 10 ohms each. Checked out most of the caps from the power board, visually no bulging anywhere and ESR readings were good. Found out that one common problem seemed to be a power IC(IC301) gone bad, so sourced an ICE3BR1565JF from China. Put it in -> no dice.

After some extensive searching on the forums, stumbled upon a thread where someone mentioned usually changing MOSFET(Q906) on the power board. Measured MOSFET Q906, which is FQPF16N25C, and got some inconsistent readings. Sourced the part from China, and put that in.

Powered the thing on, and now it's working.

                        Hi,

i have same problems with this TV. I replaced voltage regulator and D304, it worked for one day and back to clicking again. Then i started to snoop around D304 and see there is also R305 that seems bad, reads only 0,7Ohms outside the board.

Can you help me determine the value of this resistor? That schematic jpg doesnt contain values of all resistors and diodes. Looks like the colours are: red - blue - silver - gold - black. Silver is probably grey, because it cant be silver on 3rd position, right?

Maybe someone also knows the value of D307?

                        Thank you!

If it is RED, BLUE, SILVER then that will be 0.26 Ohms 5% (Gold), Black is the temperature coefficient of 250 ppmk. You need to subtract you meter probes resistance from the reading to get the resistor's resistance. If it is actually Violet then it will be 0.27 Ohms which is common value.
Bottom line, there is nothing wrong with that resistor.
