    1st post, cap question

Hello Everyone, I have replaced caps on ham radio equip but never a pc. PC is a Dell Dimension 4700C. Belongs to a friend who was going to toss. I thought I'd try to repair for him. I found several RUBYCON 6.3v 1800uF [Type MCV]caps with brown crusty crud on top. No board damage visible. There are a bunch of Rubycons [not the fakes] and the rest are Teapo and Luxon. According to what I have read the caps that are leaking are supposed "good" ones. Would it be advisable to replace ALL the Teapo's and Luxon's? I was going to replace all the Rubycons of the same value and voltage as the leakers. Thanks ahead. Ski

Hmm, must have been some extreme heat to cause those rubycons to vent.

Anyways, replace all the caps, especially the teapo and G-luxon.

Also, the values of the caps would be helpful in determining good replacements.
