    Vizio D650I-B2

Ok this one is the biggest set i have worked on and is different design that i am used to dealing with. no signs of life.

Open her up " was a pain" btw due to metal snap clips.

First glance everything looks ok nothing standing out.

started to check for voltages. and we have stability issues here will list voltages in next post.

ok with main disconnected voltages do stabilize the ones present anyways i have no idea how to force this set on since it has a led driver board. interesting anyhow.

Looking like a main problem. Due to unstable voltages, but i want to be sure.

              Re: Vizio D650I-B2

You have a main board problem. Something is putting a heavy load on the 5VSB rail. Since that 5VSB rail is getting loaded down so hard, something must be getting hot on the main board.

The hottest device on main is Ic1 which is a LD1117AG voltage regulator only reaches 94 degrees f. other LD1117 only reaches about 74 degrees f.
                Nothing smoking hot...

Either the LD1117AG regulator has a short or what ever it is feeding has a short, but definitely a Main Bd issue. Replace or repair is the next question to be addressed.

replaced regulator no dice, followed high resistance right to cpu toast new board on its way. will update results.

with the main board connected to the PSU, the 5VSB is still down? Can we see pictures of your PSU and main board?

I will check the power supply the +5 volts. your main boards fuse isn't blowing so there is no short. you could have bad diode or a bad caps on your power supply board.

check out those diodes and caps on you power supply board

Can we see the pictures of the IR board?
The IR board runs on 3.3V or 5V?
