If I unplug the LVDS cable from main board to Tcon, the screen doesnt change at all

Here is a pic of the board set up

Am I looking at needing a new main board??

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

This might be a firmware issue. Do you have a programmer?

on the top of the tcon there are two small ribbon cables if you remove one end of one cable and turn tv on what do you see on the screen? reconnect that cable and try it with the second one

im running out of ideas one last test i can think of is on the tcon board you will see some round gold colored test pads with writing by the sides of them start with the ones that start with a letter v test the voltage and let us know what the pcb marking is IE VIN IN 12V VGA 1 12V ETC ETC

Did you also check if any component in the TCON is hot?
Or use a hdmi and check if you have any sound. If you do have sound but no picture then TCON(most likely) /mainboard is bad.

If you don't have sound then you have a firmware problem.

The new T-CON Bd will fix your problem. Though there is 13V on both ends of the fuse, there are on the T-CON generated voltages that are missing due to one of the ICs producing HVDD, etc is not working.
