pls help help hp dv6-3357sf no light no power .

the problem cause is a laptop charger
the charger id pin gives 18.5 v
when the client plugs in the charger in the laptop the laptop dead .
    hp dv6-3357sf quanta LX6
no power , no light .

    PU5
    1=18.5v
    9=3.2v
    CN15
    brown wire =2.2v
    red wires=18.5v
    other wires =0v

No but from the Battery it might work
Test continuity with the help of a multimeter PQ42 Drain to Source & Gate Short

resistor PR226 burns each time i plug in the charger .

PQ42 work fine i replace it before but the same problem .

Ok Remove PR226 and test the resistance both sides of the line
Test this point’s after to Resistance with Multimètre
            +VAD

Normally this motherboard requires (page 42 CN15) the AD_ID signal so you only use original or compatible adapters for this model. We should check if there is a short circuit + VA or + VAD or + VIN, check the ohms on those points with the multimeter.
              Report the results

i test the resistance both sides but no short circuit ; side gives 18.5v and other sides gives me a high ohms value because it's connected with capacitos .

                i can't find pr139 for test VAD_1

but the pin 14 gives me 2.15v

                and here

the motherboard and schematic are different
                  this is PU8

and this in blue circle suppose to be PU8

but a lot of components are missing like PD17 and pr124 pr141 ...

Note: if you got issue when extract it, try use 7zip.

yes this Schematic is Different mesure Voltage in this area , did you resistor PR226 ?

                          • VH28 is output voltage from PU8 as voltage pump to activate PQ42 (need gate higher than source or drain).
                          • if PR226 blown then there is something in circuits, maybe PU8 (maybe other IC too) was broken.
                          • Need to check many net those point as per post7#
                          • Also make sure the charger known as good original adapter ( i think client charger has modify).

                          Note:
                          • I didn't see schematic different with real board....so confuse??
                          • * mark on schematic mean not installed.
                          • but if * then /S mean is short or pad jumper like PR131.

                            pu8 activate pq42 gate

                            because no vin

                            pr226 attached directly to pu8 i think the problem in pu8 .
is there any way to make the motherboard powered from the power ic directly without charge circuit .

I assume you have original adapter.
                                +PRWSRC and +VIN weren't short to ground.
                                • There is "good word" on this forum which tell us that The important is you know "How its work". Then you know why its failed.

AFAIK Rules mosfet on block charger:
                                • ACFET N-channel MOS required High on gate.(usually from pump ic charger or need external pump from other ICs-depend on circuit schematic).
                                • ACFET P-channel MOS required LOW ( usually have voltage from source/drain-depend on circuit schematic)

Required to laptop can turn on:
                                • +PRWSRC and +VIN have ~19V. as supply for LDO and other circuit regulator e.g 3V/5V and LED panel.
                                • PQ42 active/ON, gate required High than drain.
                                • VH28 approx ~25V-28V present via PR15 (check both side of PR15, present or not).

                                PU8

                                • P2805PG present (3.3V), VSENSE( approx 2.2V) REG (12V)

                                PU5

                                • Voltage on both VDDA/VDDP approx 5V
                                • ACAV present 3.3V and generate as ACIN signal via PR84.
                                • Also ACIN signal require for generate PQ19 (PNP-NPN on SC-74 package) so when pin 5 be ON, pin 2 be OFF, then +VAD cross to pin 6 PQ19.

                                • When +VAD present, PQ4 be ON via resistor divider PR192-PR228, Though VH28 present if this fet ON make PQ42 be OFF.
