Ribbons disconnected at tcon to panel, same 14 blink. Cables from tcon to bu board removed, same 14 blink

I expect the 14-code when T-CON is not connected.
Looking at page 58 of the service manual, I suspect the 'PANEL T-CON READY' is the one that tells the main board if the T-CON board is OK or not, I do not know if normal is HI or normal is LO. You may have to find a similar chassis to verify.

Problem ended up being bad main/bu board and t-con. I can now get tv to power up and backlights. I found 2- identical tcons local at buddies repair shop. One t-con has half perfect screen/half white screen with vertical lines. Other t-con has only backlights on no images/picture at all. Are these t-con's model specific? They are identical in everyway to original t-con. Part number's and all.

Bad main and bad T-CON,
You have to match the bar code sticker as shown at shojimmy, otherwise you will be making a guess as to what is compatible and what is not.
The good half screen is kind troubling to me also.

That's just it, the bar codes match exact to xbr9 original tcon,also to shop jimmy site. As far as half white screen, I can disconnect ribbon at tcon and vertical lines go away. I don't really understand these Sony self diagnose systems. One t-con is for sure completely bad, tv won't even try to come on-14 blinks. One t-con half picture half white screen. Other tcon just back lights. All 3- identical barcodes.

The one with 14 blinks may have blown SMD fuse or one of the power supply on that T-CON has gone bad.
I think the half of the screen with line may be due to bad panel (bad driver ICs on the flexible board between the LCD glass panel and the long rigid board, that can also cause the damages to the T-CON.

The more I mess with it, I'm starting the think the same thing. Everytime I unhook the ribbon at tcon on the right side (white screen half) the lines jump and move. Would be my first actual bad panel tv. Just my luck with all this time in it.

OK just to be sure, both ribbon cables from the LCD panel to the T-CON attached or jut one ribbon cable attached?

I usually see white half screen when one of two ribbon is not connected and another half is good, when both ribbons are connected then it kills the pictures as shown in the link.
So your are not the same problem as mine, then there is a chance that the T-CON is the problem.

New tcon fixed the problem,have a good working unit now. Thanks for the help bud.
