      A paperweight?

The only Inkjets worth using are photo printers (for those who print such things) and large format (plotter) printers... Consumer ones are hopeless paperweights and a joke compared to laser printers.

Ive had several customers just plead with me to look at their inkjet printers as they have quit putting ink on the paper all together - brother and epson. I have repetitively told them that they are not worth looking at and to invest in a laser printer instead. But they are continuously loured by the cheap price on inkjet printers and hardly ever take my advice. They seem to only look at the short term and spend their money on these cheap printers and never understand how much they are spending buying new inkjets all the time compared to one investment into a laser printer. I guess customers have very short memories on spending money and all the glitzy advertisements get them every time.

I have a brother MFC-9125CN laser printer and would never think of buying the inkjet crap again.

Adding insult to the injury of buying an inkjet is the wireless only ones. Never would I own a wireless printer as there are too many issues with connectivity.

^They make wireless lasers too. What sucks about them is that if somebody neglects to configure/turn off such function, it's easy to get hacked (had this happen before, at least the twits weren't printing porn).

I think its called a continuous ink system. Uses the cheap bulk ink in the bottles instead of one of rhe most expensive liquids on the planet. Good bits of kit for photographers and dodgy DVD vendors.

cis kits can cost as much as a cheap inkjet.

This one, did not. Made custom in japan. The printer itself also wasn't a chepo (at least at the time it wasn't). Has an ethernet port too. Hp eprint even works on this old thing on my phone.

Each head has a load of 24,000 pages

Thing is you have to print once a week or it clogs. Also the heads are getting harder to find

I have found that most of the time, the trouble with inkjets is the ignorant owner. For example: My parents printer has stopped putting out ink, several times and it was always because of the ink drying up in the nozzle. Just pull the cartridge, and dab the nozzle (in the print cradle, not the ink cartridge) with alcohol, run a head-clean procedure and *BAM*, it's back to printing.

i always find that hp printers have a lot of problems like nozzle failure,no paper detection, and stuck paper in rolling mecanism so i consider them as the crapiest printers i have ever work with, now i have a brother dcp 195c printer that i find lying on the street waiting the garbage truck because an idiot has broken the cartrige detection sensor on the black color i shorted that with a bit of solder and its working like new also more reliable than hp printers she just do what is supposed to do

Re: Look what a customer gave me

this thing has been used by my customer constantly, for years. No jams, only issue he had is with the heads drying up. I found some heads finally, CMY, new for $49 bundled, free shipping. He had an unopened black head I already put in

Its a businessjet 1200, its built for high volume printing, but the heads are built like crap if you go without printing for a long enough time, but I think I have that problem solved. On my Ubuntu server I added the printer as an IP printer in CUPS, and have a cron job set to lp a pdf that contains a CMYK print test page every day at 4pm

Well well. This printer has displayed some issues.

*startup light blinks, then printer turns off
*middle of printing lan connection drops, printer soft reboots
*unstable high pitched whine from the back before successful power up

                                  As I suspected...fucking taepo

Im guessing sc105c is model and obviously max temp. Taepo pdf says for switching power supplies....so panny FR?
