Default How can i locate the short on my Asus N73S

Hello all..

I have A asus N73s when i plug the power cord in it wil short...
I want too know Where can i inject the voltage too trace where the defect component is
I do have a dc power suply I can adjust the voltage and the amp also..

Can sombody help me please!!!!

Connect the power at the DC input to simulate the power supply, but first try to locate the schematics, likely you have a short at +B rail. (also check the pcb around the dc-jack positive pin if the jack is directly soldered to the board)

I was searching for one on the internet the schematic.... I cant find it unless you pay 10 dollar for it do you know a Good website where i can find it? I do know for sure i have a short too ground.... Because when i set the multimeter in beepmode en i touch with my probes th dc jack + with ground its shorted... it beeps

First you need to determine where is the short, remove JP6001 and JP6002 and with a DMM check the resistance at both sides, maybe PD6000 (TVS diode got shorted), you need to isolate parts of the cirtuit to discover the short.

Can u mark it for me on a picture wich 3 ? When i look at schematics i dont understand it... im handy at some things but not with schematics

No, he's suggesting you remove the solder at these two points which then reveal a break in the trace and you can test which side has the short with your multimeter.

I desolderd those 2 pads...wich area should i check? ... is there not a easy way like put amps on it and see if a component heats up? if so where should i solder the wires...

You need to locate which side has the short first before you start injecting voltage.
One probe on ground the other on the desoldered pads.

I tested it i marked it for you on the picture... on those 2 pads no value in the other 2 i see some... is that the right setting on the multimeter?

On those other two the value wil climb up to 14.7k see the picture!
What should do next? i tried two find a boardview file but overal i checkked u must pay for it... My schematic reading is bad!!!
