Before I dive into this project I just wanted some other input.
I have a Yamaha RX-V775 receiver that is starting to act up. I’m getting a crackling noise on the right channel (front and rear). I’ve switched speakers at the rear of the receiver and confirmed it’s the receiver, as the crackling stays on the right output.
The crackling sound is when there is audio out, not during silence. It is amplified with higher volume. Inputs do not make a difference. Whatever the input is, it’ll make the slight annoying crackling tapping (scratching) sound.
I’ve changed caps in monitors and dabble with electronics so I’m not afraid to get inside of the receiver. But wondered if anyone had any insight as to what might be causing the problem?
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Receiver is plugged in to a Monster power management unit and should be clean. This setup has been fine for a few years, up until this started a couple of weeks ago.
