    Samsung UN43NU6100F

    Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if these have a high back light failure rate?Or could I be lucky and only need a power board.I tried the disconnect the main board from it trick and no backlight no power led either.
Someone was taking this Jan. 2018 TV to the recycling center because it wouldnt turn on after turning it off the night before.

Maybe start with testing the voltages at the connector on the powerboard with the cables all hooked up, it's the connector that the cable from powerboard to mainboard hooks into, most times there's a legend/map nearby that gives the expected voltages, you measure them with your mutimeter, set meter to 20 vdc then report them, put neg probe on chassis metal ground, pos probe on pin of connector, measure in standby take note, leave probes where they are then power on tv and again take note of voltages, report them here, example pin 1-ps-on-0 volts standby-power on-3.3 volts.

Thinking it is in the backlights or powerboard seeing it didn't come on with cable out, can you post some good straight on pics. of each board and one of the whole back as to see how they are all connected? Just hit go advanced then manage attachments.

NU series have high rates of backlight failure. Seen one pic where the LEDs melted/burnt the clear panel.

            Will check the voltages when I get back tomorrow.But I'm afraid it's the backlights...samsung strikes again.It's a 7100F

WOW..What a job taking this thing apart! I wonder if I damaged the screen prying the black trim off talk about a boobie trap. But it's the LED's,all the diodes are burnt except for five and the clear lexan material has black melt marks at every burnt led,I want to spend the $36 on the LED's just to see if I cracked the screen.LOL

Here are some cheaper strips. https://ebay.us/1UN8C4

Edge lits are very finicky. I've had adhesive and fingerprints on the clear panel causing bright spots. Tears in the reflecting sheet can cause bright spots. If you have burn marks, they will need to be sanded down or the panel flipped.

Before reassembling completely, check for bright spots and dust or dirt by plugging in the TV with the cable between the main and PS disconnected to force the backlights on.

You can inspect the panel for damage with a flashlight. Cracks and non-uniform areas will be areas of damage.

Thank you! That was super helpful I saw the UE43NU7100f as low as $18.97 a set and wondered if it was the same as the un43nu7100f at $36.I will use your advice on the flashlight method and "IF" the screen looks ok I will turn the lexan upside down for a clean "unburned side" and give it a try and post. What the heck it'll be only 20$ and if it works I'll post it here and it may help someone in the near future. But it will be probably 3 weeks, since shipping is free and it is overseas.but stay tuned and I will post my results.
